Supernatural season 12 episode 18 is premiering on The CW come Friday, April 13, and we’ve got a few details now about an episode that has an emotional tinge to it. When you look at the title for the hour in “The Memory Remains,” that probably sends a chill down your spine. It’s pretty hard for it not to when you consider for a moment everything that we could be seeing.
Based on some of the first details that are out there for the episode, all early indications suggest that this could be a one-shot story (huzzah!) about Sam and Dean Winchester potentially spending some time with a man who just so happens to also have the head of the goat. This seems very much to be a story that goes far deeper than it first seems, which is probably what we want from a Supernatural episode. If the show were just to go in the most predictable direction, then how much fun would it be? Not very.
Supernatural season 12 episode 18 synopsis – “Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) investigate a missing person’s case in a small town. The lead witness tells the Winchesters the attacker was a man with the head of a goat. Sam and Dean aren’t sure what to believe but when the witness goes missing they realize the town is hiding a dark secret.”
We’ll admit that we’ve been somewhat torn on some of the larger arcs this season. That’s made us a tad nostalgic for the old episodes where the boys travel off to the middle of nowhere, take on a monster, and have some funny one-liners along the way. We’ll see if this episode ends up fitting the bill when it comes to offering that.
Promo – You do get a little bit of the goat in here, and it definitely looks like we’re going to be in for a fascinating, fun episode! Any installment that pushes the envelope in some way is ultimately going to be one that we can get behind … especially if it has that vintage Supernatural quality. This one does and then some.
